Paola B.
MCAT Spring ‘22 Course Graduate
“After starting the Brem Method MCAT Prep Course, my idea of what a realistic study schedule looked like changed. I had initially overloaded myself when I made my own schedule, so it was helpful to see what was expected of me was not necessarily going to be the most overwhelming schedule I had ever seen.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are classes like?
A typical class will require 1-2 hours of pre-class work to prepare you for our in-class topics. Classes are 3 hours in length. To make the best learning environment possible, you are expected to attend with your camera on whenever possible. In them, we work through content, skills, and questions together for 2.5 hours, usually with 2-3 short breaks built in. The last 30 minutes of each class is a small group recap activity led by one of our assistant coaches where you will review key takeaways and complete in-class assignments. After class, you will be assigned homework to be completed before the next class that will take an additional 1-2 hours.
Q: Will I need additional resources beyond what is provided in the course?
We will provide video content review, UWorld Q Bank Access, and an option to add on the AAMC Exam Bundle (total 6 exams + all the practice Q Packs) as part of the course. Most students do not need any additional resources beyond what is provided in the course!
The only exception to that is books, which you will need to get separately. You will receive content guides and specific videos to help you review the content on the MCAT. If you prefer to learn from physical texts, you can use any MCAT book series, but the Kaplan Books are the highest rated by my students and easiest to use with the content guides. You can use any version from 2019 onwards - they do not have to be new! There are many used sets for sale on Amazon, Facebook Marketplace, or on many local school sites. Some school or town libraries also carry MCAT books that are available to borrow for free.
While not necessary, if you would like to purchase additional practice exams or have already used the AAMC exams and want new options, Blueprint Exams are the top rated by my stuents for score accuracy and representativeness.
Q: What about other resources that I happen to have access to? Should I use them?
The course will provide you with 35-50 hours per week of assigments with our class resources and practice exams. If you would like to use other resources, you are more than welcome to do so but are not required to.
Q: What are The Brem Method Content Guides?
The content guides are open-ended practice questions that help you to focus on the most important material in each of the 31 content categories. You will use these as you review the content to make sure you are learning the high-yield topics that will show up on test day.
Q: Will I be provided with an MCAT study schedule in the course?
Yes! We will review multiple options for MCAT study schedules. Then, you will work with your dedicated assistant coach to fine-tune the schedule in a way that works for you.
Q: Who are the assistant coaches?
We won’t know exactly who the assistant coaches are until registration closes, because we want to make sure that we have enough coaches to support every student! Regardless, all assistant coaches are The Brem Method alums who have either taken The Brem Method course or have worked 1:1 with Amanda, and have received direct training from Amanda on how to best support you. They are either currently in Medical School, or in the process of applying to Medical School after successfully completing the MCAT.
Q: Will I get support with my prep outside of class hours?
Yes! Our Assistant Coaches run regular live group review and have office hours to go over challenging concepts from class. We will also have an online platform for you to ask questions and share resources with the group.
Q: What if I decide to move my test day? Can I still attend class?
Absolutely! You will have access to UWorld for 90 days from the day you active your account. You will also have unlimited access to The Brem Method Content Guides and Video Lists - they are yours to keep. You will be able to view the class material and recordings for 6 months after the end of the course.
Q: What if I want to start studying before the course starts?
That’s a great idea! You’ll have access to the pre-program materials as soon as enrollment closes. This will include your Practice Exam module, Content Review Resources, and your UWorld Subscription, which you can activate at any time.
